Amy E.D. Russell, LMSW

Primary Therapist

E. D. Russell began her therapeutic career as a staff member at outdoor therapeutic program, where she developed a deep appreciation for the nature and its role in fostering introspection and personal growth. Following this experience, she moved to Puerto Rico to work as a life coach for older teens before returning to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to pursue graduate studies.

A born and raised “Burqueña,” Amy was delighted to be close to family once more and joined the Sandhill clinical team in June 2022. She holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Social Work from Highlands University. She is also a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

In her free time, Amy enjoys exploring nature with her husband and two dogs. She is passionate about rock climbing, white-water rafting, kayaking, and primitive camping. Additionally, she pursues various creative interests, including drawing, painting, sculpting, jewelry making, and woodworking. She continually seeks ways to integrate her diverse passions into her therapeutic work with the children at Sandhill.
