Dwight Coleman Jr. brings over 27 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, with 18 years spent in inpatient settings and the past 9 years at Sandhill Center. Throughout his career, Dwight has excelled in various roles, including Child Care Worker, Staffing Coordinator, Supervisor, Behavior Management Specialist, Trainer, and currently, Residence Director. His expertise in relationship building has been instrumental in supporting clients with co-regulation, fostering trust and collaboration.
At Sandhill, Dwight has successfully integrated the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics into his work, enhancing the care and support provided to clients. His commitment to their well-being is matched by his passion for coaching. He enjoys mentoring young athletes, including his son’s football team, and led the first-ever Sandhill Crane flag football team, marking a significant milestone in the center’s history.
Outside of his professional life, Dwight cherishes time with his family, enjoys sporting events, and loves exploring New Mexico’s beautiful lakes through paddle boarding and kayaking. In the winter, he embraces the thrill of snowboarding. Dwight's blend of personal passion for sports and professional expertise plays a crucial role in helping clients reintegrate successfully into their homes and schools, working towards common goals with his treatment team.
