Meet Justin R. White, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CNE, LCSW, RYT

Psychiatric Practitioner

Dr. Justin R. White is a board-certified family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, certified nurse educator, licensed clinical social worker, and registered yoga teacher. Licensed to practice in multiple states, he has nearly 15 years of experience specializing in child and adolescent mental health.

His background includes providing psychotherapy for at-risk youth in treatment foster care, residential programs, and acute psychiatric settings. As the former Director of Psychiatry for the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD), he oversaw psychiatric care for children involved in juvenile justice and protective services. He continues to consult on complex cases to support safe, evidence-based mental health treatment for young people.

In clinical practice, Dr. White provides psychiatric care for children and adolescents in forensic and residential treatment settings, focusing on trauma, developmental concerns, and co-occurring conditions. He is also an active faculty member, mentoring graduate students and co-developing psychiatric nurse practitioner programs.

A recognized expert in child and adolescent psychiatry, he has published peer-reviewed research, presented nationally and internationally, and provided expert testimony in court. He is frequently sought out for his insights on treating youth with complex trauma histories and remains engaged in advancing the field of pediatric mental health.
