Meet Martha Peterson, LCSW
Admissions Director
Martha is a licensed clinical social worker with nearly 30 years of experience in the mental health field, specializing in supporting children and families. She holds a degree from New Mexico Highlands University. Martha began her career in acute psychiatric care, focusing on children with serious mental health needs. Her roles as a program therapist and assistant clinical director at Sandhill deepened her passion for fostering emotional regulation and resilience in children affected by developmental trauma, attachment challenges, and neurodivergence. She values collaborating with families as they navigate their children’s healing journeys.
Raised in New Mexico, Martha spent summers with her extended family in Mexico, which enriched her bilingual skills and deepened her appreciation for diversity. Since moving to Minnesota, she has developed a love for nature and local wildlife. Martha enjoys traveling, spicy food, and reading historical biographies. Most of all, she treasures time with her friends and family, especially her two sons, whose sharp wit and kind hearts bring her endless joy.
