Sarah Okun, LCSW

Clinical Director

Sarah Okun is a seasoned psychotherapist with extensive experience in mental health, trauma treatment, and organizational leadership. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on Clinical Social Work and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS), and the Polyvagal Safe and Connected Protocol. She is also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Sarah’s journey into the mental health field has been anything but linear. After earning her MBA in Finance, she spent over many years excelling in corporate leadership roles, where she developed skills in organizational systems and strategic decision-making. Feeling drawn to a more people-centered path, Sarah pivoted to the mental health field, earning her second Master's degree and pursuing clinical licensure.

Her clinical experience began in an adolescent residential psychiatric treatment center, where she provided psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and mental health assessments. Working closely with teens, families, and staff, Sarah developed a deep appreciation for the role of healthy, supportive relationships in a child’s healing process. In her private practice, she honed her expertise in interventions that build resilience within the nervous system and address the long-term effects of complex trauma.

Outside of her work, Sarah is passionate about the mind-body connection and finds balance in nature. Whether camping, exploring new landscapes, or simply enjoying the outdoors, she draws inspiration and energy from her surroundings. This connection fuels her personal growth and deepens her dedication to helping others thrive.
